Does PREC provide lunch?

We do not provide meals for campers. Students need to bring two snacks plus lunch and drinks. A water cooler is provided and available to campers at all times.

What do campers do when not riding?

In addition to riding, campers learn how to care for their horse and their equipment. We feel learning horsemanship not only teaches students what is involved in caring for the animals, it also teaches them very important life skills. The details involved in caring for a horse helps children focus and gain responsibility.

What kind of horses do campers ride?

Our school horses and instructors are all experienced teachers who are safe and kind natured. Some of our school horses are seasoned show horses who have retired from showing. Others are veteran lesson horses who have been teaching children to ride for many years. Our school horses range in size from small ponies to horses.

What special equipment or clothing do campers need?

Students will be provided with an approved safety riding helmet. Campers should wear long pants and a shirt with a sleeve for riding and boots with a heel. Please, no crop tops or spaghetti straps. They also need to bring shorts in warmer weather for times when they are not mounted on their horse.
